Fortune’s Final Frenzy
The Warwicks love a good house party.
This one may be the death of them.
Since inheriting a billion pounds and an earldom, Philip and Genevieve Warwick have lived as few can imagine: in luxury, traveling in style, hobnobbing with the global elite, and championing art worldwide. They have European estates, a château, a storied name, devoted staff—and even a family ghost.
But all is not Champagne and Chagalls.
When Baron Friedrich “Freddie” von Bassewitz invites the Warwicks to his Austrian Alps ski chalet—more castle than chalet—they expect friends, skiing, and art business. But they’ve barely unpacked when a vicious blizzard seals everyone inside.
Then Freddie, his wife, and the family patriarch begin behaving strangely. Just before the castle is cut off, Metropolitan Police DCI Francis Darlington asks Philip and Genevieve to trace priceless art stolen in a Boston heist thirty-five years ago.
Amid castle secrets, a suspicious aristocratic family, and a fortune in art missing from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum heist, the Warwicks must decide whether their invitation was innocent—and which guests they can trust.
A Tasting of Reviews
They inherited a fortune and property meaning they can live a life not many could. They will be invited to a castle to discuss art when a blizzard hits. They will be asked to look into some stolen art which happened 35 years ago … a great mystery book.

It’s only been a few years since Phillip and G stepped into the shoes of Lord and Lady Crosswick but they’ve made the best of it, and the dead bodies and stalkers, that go with it. And now, in their final adventure, a dead body at their grouse hunting, followed up with a locked house mystery in the Alps during a blizzard, the couple and their closest friends don’t miss a step as they solve one more curious crime for us before bidding us adieu. Entertaining to the last page I ended the story knowing I was going to miss this amazing series. Well done!
