“Laugh often, love with gusto, and embrace life's mysteries.”
Tana L.H. Boerger has always had a taste for adventure—and a particular weakness for beautiful places, fascinating people, art, antiques, fine food, and good wine. An unapologetic Anglophile with an equally enduring love of France, she first fell for the French way of life at fifteen, when she spent a summer studying French in Villard-de-Lans near Grenoble. Paris and Bordeaux soon joined England among the places that would keep calling her back.
Fortunately, Tana found a willing adventure partner in her husband, Tom. Together they spent years living in Hawaii, Germany, and England before building a life as entrepreneurs in Washington, D.C., and North Carolina. Their travels have taken them much farther afield—and given Tana a lifetime's worth of places, people, and stories to draw upon.
It wasn't until the pandemic that she discovered some of those stories wanted to become novels.
Tana began writing Money, Murder, Mayhem without knowing she was writing a mystery. Somewhere along the way, much to her surprise, murder became unavoidable. One book became four, and Philip and Genevieve Warwick—an American couple whose already interesting lives are spectacularly accelerated by an inherited English title, a fortune, and an alarming number of dead bodies—became the heart of the Lord & Lady Crosswick Mysteries.
In the series, Tana combines her love of travel and culture with her newfound passion for mystery. From England to Bordeaux to the Austrian Alps, the Warwicks encounter art and antiques, food and wine, history and high society—and, inevitably, crime. Tana calls it Crimes with Culture.
With Philip and Genevieve's final adventure complete, Tana is already looking ahead. A new series is bubbling away in her imagination, and she is eager to discover where writing takes her next. Becoming a novelist, she says, has been her best adventure yet: “When you’re writing, all things are possible. You can create worlds, you can destroy worlds. You can create characters, you can destroy characters. You’re the boss and nobody, except your editor, can argue with you.”
When she isn't writing or traveling, Tana divides her time between Sanford, North Carolina, and New Jersey, where she and Tom enjoy time with their son and two fabulous grandchildren.
“Adventure is everywhere—no matter if you’re thousands of miles from home or just around the corner. Keep your mind open, your heart welcoming, and you'll always have wonder in your life.”
