Fall is proof that change is beautiful!

Like a brand new baby, Fortune’s Final Frenzy has been born and is making its way into the hands of its loving readers. Since the book launched last week, I’ve had calls, emails, and texts asking, “Have you started the next series?” and all I can do is laugh. Imagine asking a woman who has just given birth and is still wiping the sweat from her brow after hours and hours of labor, “When will you have your next child?”😨  In most cases you’d be lucky to escape the room with your life!

While there’s no question there are storylines bubbling in my brain, I need to take a beat, replenish my creative juices, and spend the next few months promoting Fortune’s Final Frenzy before I’m back at my computer, dancing with my next characters.

I’m happy to say that indie author support and book signings are alive and well in both independent book sellers as well as the national chains. Through the end of the year, you’ll find me in book stores, at book clubs, at civic groups signing books, meeting, greeting and talking about the Lord and Lady Crosswick Mystery series until there are no people left to listen. I love engaging with readers. Many have followed the series from the beginning and are worried that, in FFF, Philip and Genevieve are barreling into their final escapade. “How will I survive?” they say. “They’ve become my family.” Music to my ears! But I also meet many readers who have yet to be introduced to Lord and Lady Crosswick. They’re looking for a mystery with charming, quirky characters that will let them escape into a world with a dazzling lifestyle and wild adventure. Philip, Genevieve and their chronically endangered friends and family are just the ticket. They take a chance, buy a book and I’ve made another friend for life. 🫶

Over the next few months, if you see me at a book signing, book club or just buying a cup of coffee somewhere, please let me know we’ve met in the newsletter. Until then, enjoy the fall weather—perfect for cozying up with a hot beverage and a good mystery—and get ready for the next doozy of a series!

Until next month,

Cheers and Santé

At last, summer is in our rearview mirror. Our first fire of the season is crackling on the hearth and,  as I inhale fragrant steam from the hot toddie on the table next to me, the crispness of autumn is hanging in the air. And, just in time for fall, Vengeance at the Vineyard, the third book in the Lord and Lady Crosswick Mystery series, has flown through cyber-space to Scotland and appeared in my relentless editor’s inbox for the final proofread. Have at it, Rosie!

Next stop, Caerus Kourt, the spectacular book designer. How they continue to do such creative covers while keeping the theme of the series is a mystery to me (see what I did there?). Which brings me to my question for you: If you were designing the cover for Vengeance at the Vineyard, keeping in mind the first two book covers, what would you like to see? Shoot me your thoughts and the three I like most (totally subjective), will get a free Vengeance at the Vineyard eBook when Vengeance launches in January.

Here's a synopsis to get your creative juices going:

During a picture-perfect winter wedding at Château Beaulieu, Philip and Genevieve Warwick’s vineyard in Bordeaux, there's a threatening note, a heart attack and a death … maybe. Christmas is joyous—then it’s not. Nasty rumors try to destroy the House of Crosswick and all it stands for. A horse is stolen and a child is kidnapped …maybe. One thing's for sure, though: you won't expect the surprise at the end. 😯

There you go. Let your imagination run wild. Email your suggestions to me at tana@tanalhboerger.com.

I can’t wait to hear your ideas!

Cheers and Santé,
